Han West - home of dumplings
Selchowerstraße 20, 12049 Berlin
Han West is a small Imbiss in Neukölln, close to Tempelhofer Feld. They serve a variety of Asian dumplings and bao buns with modern street food.
I read that it was one of the tasties openings in 2019, so I needed to try it by myself.
You order your food through a window and there is only one table and two benches to seat. The good thing is that the customers can sit in the bar next to it called Brauhaus Neulich as they have the same opening hours.
I totally love the idea. What can be better than having a nice bao bun and drinking a beer while listening to some electronic music in a bar?
I went with a friend around 20:00 and it was funny to see that almost everyone at the bar were eating a Han West menu.
The menu is not super big but it’s actually delicious. They offer four types of dumplings, two of them have meat, one is vegetarian and the last one is vegan.
- Pork, chives, cabbage, carrots, ginger, garlic.
- Chicken, Thai basil, pepper, carrots and chilli.
- Halloumi, lemongrass, tofu, chickpeas and broccoli.
Sweet potato, chickpeas, broccoli, bell pepper and teriyaki sauce.
Also with the baos you have the option to choose between Pork Belly Bao (pork belly, hoisin, cucumber, coriander and peanuts) or Fu Bao (the vegan option with crispy tofu, hoisin, carrot salad with BBQ mustard dressing, coriander and peanuts).
As side, you can have homemade fries with alioli and spicy or peanut sauce, or Thai salad.
A perfect food combination to enjoy in Schillerkiez.
