El Pepe is a Spanish tapas bar in Wedding. Normally I don’t ride that far but two good friends of mine said that I couldn’t miss that restaurant.
My first impression was really good. Open space, nice decoration, music at its perfect volume and good lightning.
We took a seat and as we asked for a beer (Estrella Galicia of course), they brought some olives as appetizer.
We ordered patatas bravas con salsa alioli y salsa brava (Bravas mit scharfer Soße und Alioli) pimientos de Padrón (kleine grüne Bratpaprika Teller), boquerones (Sardellen), croquetas (Schinken Croquette mit Bechamel), escalivada (Salat aus geröstetem Gemüse mit Thunfisch) and a special tapa that was not on the menu, bacalao con judías blancas rehogadas y alioli (Kabeljau mit weiß Bohnen und Alioli).
We didn’t wait long for our food (and there were a lot of customers in different tables, so thumbs up!) and they served all dishes almost at the same time.
Delicious. I’m a super fan of “croquetas” and the ones served at El Pepe are incredibly tasty and huge. Large instead of rounded but the inside was creamy as it should be.
And the rest, what can I say… Pimientos, boquerones… They taste like Spain.
I really liked the Kabeljau tapa because it’s hard to find fish in Berlin, and I love it when I have the chance to eat it.
So to sum up, I will definitely come back to El Pepe as both food and staff are super nice. Gracias.
